The calm after the storm

Yesterday was one of the few days when I have decided not to swim due to very poor weather. The wind was well over 20mph, which is my normal limit, although as the water gets cooler I am gradually revising this informal rule. However today could not have been more of a contrast. With only 5mph of wind and a nice 4 degree air temperature it was a very pleasant swim. The water temperature has slightly improved to 5.3 degrees but with the mirror-like quality of the sea reflecting some beautiful clouds, it was a thoroughly delightful experience.
