Swimming with friends….for a change!

Today was a tight one. I was hosting an online festival day for the Buddhist Centre which started at 10:00 and finished at 15:30. I knew there was an outside chance of managing to squeeze a swim in as we had a planned lunch break between 12:45 and 14:00 and with high tide at 12:56, I had to give it a go!

After furiously pedalling down to the hut at the start of our break I was delighted to be joined by my friends Jenny and Shelagh who came down to join me……..in the water! It’s the first time I’ve had company during my swim.

The other great moment was realising that today’s swim clocked up the 10,000m of swimming in the sea this winter. The other milestone that I am edging close to is raising £2,500 for the Samaritans and Colchester Buddhist Centre.

Tomorrow will see me start the final month of the challenge and technically I just need to swim another 2 times to have formally completed the challenge. This may be as soon as Tuesday…..all being well.
