Thanks boss!

I wanted to post a thank you to my boss who helpfully agreed to changing the time of our fortnightly meeting so that I could make the high tide. Consequently, this resulted in a bonus swim and one that wasn’t on my original January schedule. For the last three years I have worked part time for the excellent charity, The Karuna Trust. The charity is inspired by Buddhist values and works alongside the most excluded people in South Asia, overcoming discrimination with locally-led education, gender equality and sustainable livelihood projects. It’s a privilege to make a small contribution to such a wonderful organisation that is doing really important work.

As a consequence I enjoyed a bright morning, brisk westerly wind and a sea temperature back to 5 degrees. I was able to put out my info board, cards and some Winterfest leaflets. It was also good to see the return of my mascot, PB! I considered a longer swim but the ‘undulation’ was significant and resulted in a slower first 250m, so I decided that 500m was fine.
