Is 750m the new normal?

Another 750m swim in 6.2 degrees has me pondering. Is this the new standard distance for the rest of the challenge? The first time I officially attempted the Polar Bear Challenge I stuck to the mandatory minimum of 250m. Two winters ago my standard distance had become 500m and this time I managed a few 750m swims early on in November but didn’t expect to still be able to do that when the temperature dropped.

That got me thinking about the length of time I might be able to stay in the water. Below is an interesting guide to open water temperatures in open water.

As to what the next three and half months have in store, I shall have to wait and see.
