Dark, cold but 8000m in February
The early morning sunshine had all but gone by the time of today’s high tide. I did have one of those fleeting moments when I didn’t really fancy it! The wind was cold, the sea temperature had nudged down to 7.3 degrees and the dark clouds hung over the grouchy sea. It almost felt like I was being encouraged by nature to turn around and go back home in the warm!
So, naturally I decided to go for the longer distance of 750m, which brought up the total of 8,000m for February. This is the furthest distance I have managed during this month, which is often the coldest of the winter.
As usual for a weekend swim, despite the conditions, there were a good number of people promenading, a number of whom contributing to the growing total being raised for the excellent cause of the Winterfest Wellbeing Fund. Thank you to all who placed donations in my collection tin.
