A Xmas Cracker

Thanks to amazing support from the Winterfest Crew (particularly Dave, Anne and John) there were a good number of people in attendance for my Christmas Day swim. The previously forecasted rain didn't materialise, in fact we were treated to some sunshine during and at the end of the swim.

Some very generous Christmas Day walkers helped top the total money raised to date for the Winterfest Wellbeing Fund to just over £800. The new bunting (wonderfully created by Anne) was on display along with my mascot, P.B.

The temperature of the water had risen slightly to 6.9 degrees and overall it was an enjoyable swim with no painful hands and feet afterwards.

There may be more pictures to come and also some additional videos for subscribers to my monthly newsletter.

Finally a huge thank you to Alix for the present from the Winterfest Crew, which Dave presented to me after my swim. I now have a replacement pair of bright yellow Crocs to replace the ones stolen earlier in the year when our beach hut was broken into. They will provide much needed protection to my feet as a walk out of the sea and back to the hut. With no feeling in my feet after the swim I have unknowingly cut my feet on stones and small barnacles. Thank you Winterfest!
