A new route, another 1km

A view towards today’s first leg, a trip to the other side of Bateman’s Tower

When I saw the fairly flat sea after getting off my bike at the beach hut today, I decided to have a change. Instead of swimming towards the swimming pool and sailing club, I swam in the opposite direction towards and then past Bateman’s Tower. The temperature had stabilised at 8.7 degrees and I spent just over 27 minutes in the water. A gentle south easterly gave some ripple but nothing much to disrupt my stroke, although the current was very strong today. The leg that was against the tide was hard work, which explains the rather slow time. Having said that, I’m really not the fastest swimmer on the planet! I blame my short arms and legs :)

So that brings up the total to 40,100m / 24.92 miles and with some more cash donations in the tin, a total of £2013.63.

PB was in residence today and the Winterfest flags were proudly flying.
