10 degrees!

A flat sea, almost no breeze to speak of and a balmy 10 degrees combined to make a very enjoyable 750m today. I had to double check the thermometer and cross check with the sea temperatures website I use to confirm that the sea temperature had indeed risen to 10 degrees.

During the 750m swim I encountered quite a number of jelly fish, which I always associate with the water getting warmer.

It was an absolute delight being in the water today, even though it was a very low (high) tide of only just over 4m. When the water’s low I tend to swim further out, the other side of the buoys, which can give a greater sense of being in open water. Turning slightly to breathe I’m just greeted by a large sky and the horizon in the distance. Wonderful.
