Disappearing in the grey mist

I almost didn’t swim today. I had a busy day meeting people in Colchester and just got home in time to pack my bag and cycle down to the prom. It was drizzling. It was grey. And then I received a photo from the prom from Sandra showing a very large ship ghosting on the horizon and I thought…..well, how can I resist a swim in these conditions!

Due to the poor visibility I decided to attach my underwater flashing green light which I attached to the rear of my swim buoy. Interestingly I think it was an academic exercise as the prom was deserted before my swim, during the swim and afterwards! Time I reached out to put together a support rota so I have someone on the shore each time with a phone……just in case.
