The Arctic Polar Bear Challenge Begins
On a bright sunny morning just before 09.30 I set off from home on my bike, down to the Brightlingsea promenade to begin this winter’s Polar Bear Challenge. The weather was nice and sunny and with a gentle 5mph breeze and with a sea temperature of a very pleasant 12 degrees, the challenge began.
My new route is 500m, twice what I swam each time I got into the water last year. For the inaugural swim my son Michael came down to film me. Some excerpts of these videos will appear shortly on the Videos page of this site.
