A slight diversion
My usual single focused approach to my task was slightly knocked off course today when I was asked if I could retrieve a “Nerf Sports Aero Howler”, or child’s throwing dart to the uninitiated. When I reached it it turned out to be larger than expected and I wasn’t able to attach it to myself or my swim buoy so I could keep swimming. So after treading water and raising myself up I threw it back towards shore. Unfortunately it missed the prom steps by several feel so I then swam back to retrieve it a second time and hand it over to the grateful Mum of it’s owner. I had been in the water for a few minutes at this point and had forgotten to start my stopwatch before going in so was very aware that I may not then complete my usual route. However, once I got into my stroke pattern, all was well and I managed the usual 250m circuit on top of this little diversion.
