Happy New Year!

First swim of 2024 will also be my last for almost a week. This is due to the time of the tides. I managed to cycle home after today’s swim just before it got dark. One of the recommendations of the Polar Bear Challenge organisers is to get your swims in early in the month. This is to ensure you don’t leave yourself too much to do as January and February often get disrupted by storms. However, due to circumstances I need to be satisfied that I have put the first 500m on the board for January and keep an eye on the weather.

More generous people today put money in my collection box - thank you!

And I also enjoyed a post swim “Booja Booja”, which if you didn't know are particularly delightful organic, dairy, gluten and soya free, vegan chocolate truffles. I will be rationing them to one post swim, although others in my household are rather partial to them, so it will be interesting to see how long a box of 16 will last. Today’s choice was Almond Salted Caramel, described as “Chewy, gooey salted caramel & roasted almond swoons.”

Happy New Year!
