Coldest 30th Nov in over 16 years
I think it must be the sunshine that beckoned me down to the hut today, despite my knowledge of the coldest sea temperature for the 30th November since before 2007. Coming in at 7.8 degrees it’s the sort of sea temperature I’d expect in late December early January. However having passed a delightful couple of hours in the excellent Syrian Cafe The Olive Branch continuing to work on the novel I started writing at the beginning of this month, I decided some physical action was required. I realise for most sensible people that might mean wrapping up well and having a nice walk or possibly even donning some decent gloves and cycling. Last night a friend of mine described her heated gloves that she uses for cycling! Sounds quite delightful. However, not really being someone easily labelled as a sensible person a plunge into the sea is my solution to the need for some bodily activity.
The sun did indeed bring a delightful edge but the chilly North Westerly wind when I got out was not the best! I also had to cycle into it on my way back home.
So that’s November done. I will be checking in my distance of 7,100m, after completed a rare 600m today (I was feeling good) with the official Polar Bear Website where you can check out the official swim lists of all the people completing the various levels of the challenge.
Massive thanks to the people who stopped by to chat and to pop money into my collection tin for the Wellbeing Fund. It’s hugely appreciated and will make a real difference to many people. Thank you.
One month down, four to go!
Looking quite chirpy before the swim!
