Beastly easterly
A brisk 18mph wind from the east delivered a raw end to the swim after I got out of the sea today. Swimming straight into the waves at the start of a swim is an unusual experience. After only half a dozen strokes I lifted my head to sight myself amongst the buoys and swallowed an entire wave of sea water. Not the greatest way to start a swim! The sun was out, which always lifts me, particularly on the return leg where I can see the sparkling water across to Point Clear.
Since we are now into the final month of this winter’s challenge, I have created a new board which I will be displayed outside the hut, showing the total distance I have swum this winter, alongside the total amount of money raised to date (see below)
