£2,000 raised

Photo thanks to Anne from Winterfest

I was delighted to receive two more donations via the Just Giving page before I swam today. Keith and Carol Middleton and then my swimming buddy, Sagaradevi all made donations which tipped me over the £2,000 mark. This is a combination of online donations and also all those who place coins and sometimes notes in my Winterfest collecting tin. I’m delighted that this will be going to supporting local people in all sorts of ways when the Wellbeing Fund is opened for applications.

After today’s swim and another £4.50 cash donations, alongside the £2008.13 collected, I have now swum a total of 38,100m or 23.67 miles. The temperature dropped slightly again today to 9.2 degrees, although with cold and windy weather focus for most of next week, I’m not confident that I will make the 26 miles of a marathon. However…….one swim at a time.

I swam quite a way from shore today and as I turned to head home I noticed an unusual craft in the water. Each time I turned my head to take a breath I tried to check it out. However it wasn’t until I was getting out of the sea that I noticed it was a police boat!
