What? No Swim Buoy!
My routine for each swim is pretty meticulous. I am quite pleased that the care and attention I put into the safety aspects of my swims is usually fairly thorough. However after 3 minutes into the slightly warmer 6.5 degree swim I suddenly realised that I wasn’t towing my pink swim buoy. This is such a crucial piece of kit as it really helps to make me visible in the sea, particularly when it is a bit lively.
I wasn’t going to mention this here, as I know there are people (close to me) who will not be happy to hear that I swam without the swim buoy. However I am fairly convinced that no-one actually reads my mini ramblings on these pages, so I am assuming that this is likely to be my little secret!
It’s not something I plan to repeat, so with only 1000m to go, I can confidently predict that when I complete my final two swims my pink tow float will be bobbing along behind me.
