First experience of swollen red hands

Now we’re under 9 degrees with the water temperature coming in at 8.7 degrees. The air temperature was only 7 degrees so when I emerged and started to warm up whilst getting changed I had the first experience this winter of “red swollen hand syndrome” :) I’m pretty sure it’s not called that but when the blood comes back there is certainly an intense sensation and colouring!

I also wanted to thank the family who spoke to me before I swam and then hung around to give me a round of applause when I re-emerged from the water. Much appreciated.
