My first 10km in one month

I was very grateful to Melanie Bridle for visiting the hut today to see me off on the last swim of February. It was also the last swim during Winterfest. It had been quite a grim day with periods of heavy rain, including during my swim.

However, I’m delighted to report that I managed to complete the last 500m which means I swam a total of 10,000m (10km) in one winter month. This is not something I have done before and to manage it during the month of February, during Winterfest, has made it feel extra special.

The wind kicked up whilst I was swimming but I still managed to get out of the water, dry my hands enough to use my mobile phone and then get back in the water to take a photo holding up my makeshift sign. Getting out and then getting back in is definitely not something I like doing that often!

A quick moment back in the water to hold up my homemade sign!
