Strongs winds for the first sub 10 degree swim
An early experience of a sub 10 degree swim was accompanied by some pretty strong west-south-westerly winds. Fortunately the sun was shining which made it fun although with reasonably high waves and the intermittent sparkles in the flying surf, visibility was not the best!
However another 500m saw this month’s 3000m challenge reached. I had intended to try for 750m until maybe January, however the current was strong and the battle against the wind on the way back meant a longer time in the water to achieve the 500m standard. I haven’t settled into 500m as the distance to aim for yet and hope that on less lively days I may still manage the 750m route which I practiced in September and October.
